Orchards Site Building Project
Lighthouse to the Nations Church was planted in 2002 into Norwood Primary School. Coming out of the COVID-19 lockdown we migrated towards two sites: one in Edenvale, where we are finishing up a renovation project, and one in Orchards at our Church House. This property was bought in 2005 for R1.1 million and at the time we received a prophetic word that it would one day become a down payment for our future building. The property is now worth around R3.5-R4.5 million.
The Need
Our Orchards site reached capacity about a year ago, with most services seeing 100+ people being packed into our venue every Sunday. It is clear that it is time to look for somewhere larger to meet.
An Open Door
The Pine Street Shul, located on just the other side of our West boundary wall comprising of an empty stand, the Shul and a house has come on the market for R8.9 million. We made an offer of R7.5 million in 2021 which has yet to be accepted.
The Cost
We believe we may have to make an offer closer to the asking price in order to get this property. In addition to this, we estimate that it would take an additional R5 million to get the property to the point where we can get the best use out of it. This would take us to a total investment of just under R14 million (less the sale of our current Church House approx R4 million).​
